I find it interesting that news of danger is often scarier than danger itself. The anticipation of danger is scarier than the danger. You know when the Swine Flu news first hit the public our town was a ghost town. The few people that were on the street wore mask and hurriedly walked past. All of the pharmacies sold out of hand sanitizer and face mask. Folks would cross the street so as to not shake hands and if they were unable to avoid the handshake, would walk around like they had snot on their hands until they could wash. All of this without a single local case of swine flu.
Today, with 10 confirmed cases locally the streets are full of un-preoccupied people without mask or precaution. Now that the danger is clear and present folks don’t seem to worry as much. What a topsy turvey world!!!
